Reverse foreclosures, how to improve your relationship with your property management company and holding on to property value while saving on operating costs are among the topics to be address at _executive One Property Management’s 12th Quarterly Board of Directors workshop. The event, to be Thursday, May 6, at the Crown Plaza Fort Lauderdale, 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. is free, but reservations are required. Food and beverages will be provided.
A reverse foreclosure is a tool that revenue-starved associations can use to force mortgagees to pay association fees when unit owners won’t.
Keynote speaker for the conference is Orly Amor, president and CEO of Pompano Beach-based _executive One Property Management, Inc. Ms. Amor is a recognized authority in property management. She has served as property management expert for WPLG-TV (Ch. 10) and has written a book, The Practical Approach to Property Management for Our Times, for which she interviewed more than 100 association board members to gain insights.
Other topics to be covered by the conference include:
• “The Role of the Board”—the financial and legal responsibilities of HOA and condo boards.
• “Long-term Planning”—How to keep your building running smoothly and manage capital budgeting and maintain a sufficient reserve system.
• “Volunteer Board Members”—The serious and complex issues faced by directors that affect the quality of life and financial futures of property owners with their communities.
